IMPORTANT INFORMATION: In order to activate service, you must be a customer of Verizon Wireless, meet credit-class criteria and have a valid credit card. Service must be activated through an agreement with Vodafone Specialist Communications Limited (formally known as WorldRoam Ltd). Your relationship under this agreement is with Vodafone Specialist Communications Limited (hereafter known as 'Vodafone'). Neither Verizon Wireless nor any Vodafone entity other than Vodafone Specialist Communications Limited is responsible, or bears any liability, for the service or any claims that arise under this agreement. A compatible international device is required. If you do not already have a compatible international device, one may be rented through Vodafone. It may take up to two (2) business days for U.S. destinations for the satellite phone to be shipped to the customer, when rented through Vodafone. Your Verizon Wireless device is not usable with the service.
Verizon Wireless promotions and discounts may not be used in connection with this service. All charges for the service will be charged to the customer's credit card by Vodafone Specialist Communications Limited.
All rental customers will make a $500.00 deposit, per phone, taken at the start of the rental term. The deposit will be used to settle the final invoice for the phone, which will contain applicable rental, airtime, text and equipment charges. If these charges are less than the deposit, the remainder will be refunded to you. If amounts remain due and owing on your final invoice, those amounts will be charged to the credit card provided.
While traveling, if airtime usage exceeds $500.00, an invoice will immediately be issued for the amount of airtime used. This amount will then be charged to the credit card supplied (this process will be repeated if outstand airtime on the account exceeds $500.00 at any time). Service may be suspended without notice if incurred charges cannot be paid.
Depending upon the billing cycle, customers may receive the Vodafone statement after the credit card statement on which the charge appears. Charges on the Vodafone statement and credit card statement will be in U.S. Dollars ($).
Please read the following entire terms and conditions:
- The customer agrees to all rates listed above.
- All rental customers will make a $500.00 deposit, per phone, taken at the start of the rental term. The deposit will be used to settle the final invoice for the phone, which will contain applicable rental, airtime, text and equipment charges. If these charges are less than the deposit, the remainder will be refunded to you. If amounts remain due and owing on your final invoice, those amounts will be charged to the credit card provided.

- Charges for calls sent and received are in full one-minute increments, subject to paragraphs 3.2 and 3.3 below.
- Satellite phones may operate in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Airtime used is charged as per the rates stated on this agreement.
- Outgoing call charges commence from the time the 'SEND' button is pressed regardless of the number dialled or whether the call is completed.
- Incoming calls are not chargeable.
- Incoming calls diverted to voicemail and any messages left by the caller are not chargeable to the customer. If the customer calls their voice mailbox to retrieve messages, this will be charged at $1.35 per minute.
- Text messages can only be sent to and from Iridium satellite phones and to email addresses. There is a 160-character limit (including spaces). All text messages for which the sender receives a "Message Sent" (or similar) confirmation will be billed to the sender at $0.65 per outgoing message, even if the recipient(s) does not receive the message. Received text messages are free.
- The customer consents to payment by credit card as per credit card details documented on this agreement. A statement/invoice will be sent to the customer by mail to the address on this agreement within 7 days of the International phone being returned to rental inventory. Receipt of statement/invoice may vary according to international postal times. If the customer has requested online invoicing, they will receive an email, sent to the email address on this agreement, informing them when their invoice is available to view online. The customer may receive additional invoices with call detail that was unavailable to Vodafone at the time the phone was returned. It can take more than 30 days from the date of the call to receive these additional invoices due to delays in receiving the call data. These additional invoices will be charged using the payment method on this agreement. Charges on invoices appear in United States Dollars ($).
- When returning the phone, it must be received back into inventory within 4 business days of the end of the rental period (disconnection date). If the equipment is not received within this period, additional daily rental charges, of $11.50 a day, will apply until FedEx collects the equipment for return. If the equipment is not received within 15 business days of the end of the rental period (disconnection date), the customer will be charged the full replacement cost, $1750.00. If the phone is then returned to inventory, the customer will be credited the $1750.00 replacement cost, less daily rental for the extra period they were in possession of the phone. This applies to all phones rented.
- In the event of loss, theft or damage, the customer is responsible for the full replacement cost of $1750.00. Accessories lost, broken or stolen will be charged as per Clause 11 below.
- In the event of total loss or theft, the customer's liability for outgoing calls and any transmissions will cease immediately on reporting the loss to Vodafone at +44 1206 835444 (24 hours).
- The customer is responsible for all charges as set forth in this agreement, including appropriate rental charges and charges for calls and usage from the activation date until the return of equipment.
- Customers may terminate their phone rental at any time by returning the phone and will be responsible only for equipment rental charges, delivery charges and calls made/received during the rental period. Should a customer wish to cancel their order, they must do so before the phone has been shipped. If the order is cancelled after shipment, the customer will be responsible for the delivery charges, as stated on the agreement.
- In the case of Loss, theft or damage, rental customers are responsible for the replacement cost of: AC Travel Adapter with International Plug Kit ($120.00), Antenna Adapter ($60.00), Portable Auxiliary Antenna ($120.00), Auto Accessory Adapter ($60.00), Battery ($115.00), Phone Case ($55.00), Manufacturer's Manual ($25.00), Carry Case ($50.00). It is recommended that the satellite phone and its accessories be insured through your travel insurance.
- The customer should learn how to use the equipment before leaving for destination to ensure proper operation and understanding of equipment use. The Customer should test all equipment and notify Vodafone of any equipment problems or missing equipment on date of receipt of the rental package to avoid liability for damaged and/or missing equipment. If the customer requires assistance, the customer must contact Vodafone. The customer agrees to work in tandem with Vodafone including providing Vodafone details of problems, time necessary to troubleshoot and determine solution. If Vodafone does not hear from the customer at beginning of problem period and/or the customer does not perform testing before leaving for destination, the customer agrees that all equipment and service is working, and all charges remain valid and approved by the customer.
- Rates, terms and conditions apply only in published Global Rental countries. Please see www.vzwrentinternational.com for coverage and airtime rates. Airtime used in other countries will be billed on a pass-through basis and may be subject to taxes, tolls, and surcharges.
- NO RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE ACCEPTED BY VODAFONE FOR NETWORK TRANSMISSIONS AND RECEPTION CONDITIONS EXPERIENCED DURING THE RENTAL OF THE INTERNATIONAL PHONE, OR DURING THE TERM OF THIS AGREEMENT IN ANY COUNTRY. Although satellite signal coverage is extensive, it is not continuous worldwide. The satellite phone requires line-of-site to the entire sky and worldwide coverage is estimated at 98% of the surface of the planet. Vodafone uses satellite carrier(s) and makes no warranty, express or implied, as to merchantability, fitness of equipment or a particular purpose, call quality, or usefulness of satellite phone service. Quality of satellite signal is extremely dependent on amount of sky that is viewable.
- Vodafone reserves the right to change the rates, terms and/or conditions of this agreement in its sole discretion at any time. The customer will be provided with 30 days written notice of any changes and, should they adversely affect the customers rates, term and/or conditions set forth in this agreement, the customer will have the right to terminate this agreement.
- Limitation of Liability. In no event shall Vodafone Specialist Communications Limited ("Vodafone") be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with this agreement or the use of the satellite mobile phone or other mobile telephony device or Vodafone mobile services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages and regardless of the legal or equitable theory (contract, tort or otherwise) upon which the claim is based, including, without limitation, claims based upon the use, interruption, delay, loss, malfunction, shutdown, service failure or other inability to use the rental satellite mobile phone or other mobile telephony device, claims based upon the use, interruption, delay, loss, malfunction, shutdown, failure or other inability to use any Vodafone mobile telephony services, claims based upon lost revenues or profits, business delays, or business interruption, claims based upon loss of business or goodwill, or claims based upon any mobile telephony device or service failure to accurately transfer, read or transmit mobile data or other electronic information.
- In no event shall Vodafone be liable for death or personal injury which might arise in connection with the use of the Vodafone mobile services or the rental satellite mobile phone or other mobile telephony device. The customer, any authorized user, or any other person or entity whatsoever using the rental satellite mobile phone or other mobile telephony device should refer to the safety information contained in the manufacturer's user manual.
- Notwithstanding any provision of this agreement to the contrary, the maximum aggregate liability of Vodafone to the customer, any authorized user of the rental satellite mobile phone or other mobile telephony device, or any other person or entity whatsoever arising out of or in connection with this agreement, whether such liability arises from any claim based upon contract, warranty, statute, tort (including but not limited to negligence) or otherwise, shall in no case exceed the actual amount of fees received by Vodafone for the specific mobile phone or device or Vodafone mobile service or services to which such liability relates during the immediately preceding two (2) month period.
- Because some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain liability, in such jurisdictions the liability of Vodafone shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
- THE CUSTOMER SHOULD NOTE THAT IT IS DANGEROUS, AND MAY BE UNLAWFUL, TO UTILIZE THE SATELLITE PHONE WHEN DRIVING OR CARRYING OUT ANY OTHER ACTIVITY REQUIRING A COMMENSURATE DEGREE OF ATTENTION AND CONCENTRATION. THE USE OF WIRELESS DEVICES AND THEIR ACCESSORIES MAY BE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED IN CERTAIN AREAS. ALWAYS OBEY THE LAWS AND REGULATIONS ON THE USE OF THESE DEVICES.
- THE ONLY PARTIES TO THIS AGREEMENT ARE THE CUSTOMER AND VODAFONE SPECIALIST COMMUNICATIONS LIMITED. VODAFONE SPECIALIST COMMUNICATIONS LIMITED IS THE ONLY ENTITY PROVIDING RENTAL SATELLITE MOBILE PHONE(S) OR OTHER DEVICE(S), AND MOBILE SERVICES TO THE CUSTOMER UNDER THIS AGREEMENT. TO THE EXTENT THE CUSTOMER FILES A CLAIM IN ANY STATE OR FEDERAL COURT, OR WITH ANY GOVERNMENTAL OR QUASI-GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY, THE ONLY PARTY AGAINST WHOM SUCH CLAIM PROPERLY MAY BE FILED OR MADE IS VODAFONE SPECIALIST COMMUNICATIONS LIMITED. NO OTHER VODAFONE ENTITY IS A PARTY TO THIS AGREEMENT AND MAY NOT BE THE SUBJECT OF A SUIT OR COMPLAINT IN CONNECTION WITH THIS AGREEMENT, THE RENTAL SATELLITE MOBILE PHONE OR ANY OTHER DEVICE THAT WAS PROVIDED TO THE CUSTOMER PURSUANT TO THIS AGREEMENT, OR ANY MOBILE SERVICES PROVIDED PURSUANT TO THIS AGREEMENT.

DEFINITIONS
ACTIVATION DATE - The first use of the equipment, or within 4 days of the receive date. These days are provided by the customer and are documented on this agreement.
DISCONNECT DATE - For short-term rentals, the day the equipment is collected for return to inventory as specified in the documentation provided with the equipment.
SHORT-TERM RENTAL - A period of days/week(s)/month(s) the equipment is rented at the rates quoted without any contractual option beyond the period of time used.

This payment will be applied to, and will show on, the next monthly invoice, and any balancing payment will be deducted from the customers credit card at that time. - In the event of total loss, theft or breakage of the International purchased phone/ SIM card, the customer will be responsible for reporting the incident to Vodafone. The customer's liability for outgoing calls and any transmissions will cease immediately on reporting the loss to Vodafone at +44 1206 835428 (24 hours).
- The customer is responsible for all charges as set forth in this agreement, including, appropriate network access charges and charges for calls and usage from the activation date for the duration of the contract
- The term of this agreement will be 12 months beginning on the activation date. The customer may cancel this agreement at anytime but agrees to pay the total of any unpaid network access charges that otherwise would have been paid during the 12 month term of this agreement (the "Termination Fee"), and any accrued but unpaid airtime access charges. 1 months written notice to Vodafone is required for cancellation (i.e. if the customer wants to cancel after one year of service, notice must be sent in writing to Vodafone at least 1 month prior to the end of the 12 month term year anniversary). If not terminated, the agreement will renew automatically on a month-to-month basis until terminated with 30 days written notice. Loss/theft/breakage of the satellite phone does not terminate this agreement.
- Satellite phone accessories are charged at the following rates: AC Travel Adapter with International Plug Kit ($120.00), Antenna Adapter ($60.00), Portable Auxiliary Antenna ($120.00), Auto Accessory Adapter ($60.00), Battery ($115.00), Phone Case ($55.00), Manufacturer's Manual ($25.00), Carry Case ($50.00). - Global Rental service will be terminated if the contract customer has not used (shows no airtime, or SMS activity) their Global Rental service for 12 consecutive months. Upon termination, Vodafone reserves the right to deactivate the Satellite phone number so it is no longer available for use by the customer. No written notice by Vodafone is required for termination pursuant to this section.
- Global Rental service will be terminated if there is non-payment of three (3) consecutive invoices. Thirty (30) days written notice will be provided and termination will take effect thirty days after notice is provided if no correspondence or payment is received as per the written notice. Upon termination, Vodafone reserve the right to deactivate the Satellite phone number so it is no longer available for use by the customer.
- Vodafone reserves the right to change the rates, terms and/or conditions of this agreement in its sole discretion at any time. The customer will be provided with 30 days written notice of any changes and, should they adversely affect the customers rates, term and/or conditions set forth in this agreement, the customer will have the right to terminate this agreement without incurring the Termination Fee.
- Corporate Rewards is available to contract customers only. Discounts on airtime, access and equipment will be applied when the minimum number of international lines has been purchased by the customer. Continuation of discounts will only apply if the customer has purchased the number of international lines within 6 months as agreed. All discounts will be discontinued if the customer does not meet the agreed number of contract international lines as set forth in the Corporate Rewards program for customers with 24 or less international lines, all pricing is not subject to any discount.
- Limitation of Liability. VODAFONE SPECIALIST COMMUNICATIONS LIMITED IS THE ONLY ENTITY PROVIDING SATELLITE MOBILE PHONE(S) OR OTHER DEVICE(S), AND MOBILE SERVICES TO THE CUSTOMER UNDER THIS AGREEMENT. TO THE EXTENT THE CUSTOMER FILES A CLAIM IN ANY STATE OR FEDERAL COURT, OR WITH ANY GOVERNMENTAL OR QUASI-GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY, THE ONLY PARTY AGAINST WHOM SUCH CLAIM PROPERLY MAY BE FILED OR MADE IS VODAFONE SPECIALIST COMMUNICATIONS LIMITED.
